Are you interested in being able to HPSPrepFan.jpg (464761 bytes)
produce a Calibration Standard Solution for AAS, ICP, or ICP-MS with a concentration of ng to mg/mL in a one step operation?

The new HPSPrep* technique allows you to do just that.

The new approach takes advantage of the non-wetting properties of Teflon.  Teflon sleeves are precleaned and air dried in a Class 100 area.  A certified concentration by weight or volume of analyte or analytes is transferred to the Teflon sleeve and sealed.   The weight or volume is usually 5.000 g or 5.000 mL.  The analyst determines the concentration needed and selects the final volume of solution to give the desired concentration.  The analyst selects the appropriate certified concentration in a Teflon sleeve.  The top of the Teflon sleeve is removed with a sharp object and the contents of the sleeve transferred into the appropriate volumetric flask.  The volumetric flask is diluted to calibrated volume with 18 megaohm water and mixed.

There are numerous other applications being developed for the HPSPrep technique.   All of HPS standard solutions in this catalog can be placed in the HPSPrep technique.  Besides preparing calibration curve solutions, this packaging technique allows us to prepare ppb solutions that are stable for a year.  This is accomplished by placing one microgram of analyte in the Teflon sleeve.  Upon dilution to a liter, a one ppb solution has been prepared.

The HPSPrep is a useful means of providing accurate quantities of acids or other reagents needed in field use. The Teflon material provides a safe, non-reactive packaging for small quantities (up to 10 mL) of concentrated acids or other highly reactive reagents.
